What a Girl Wants (1-2)
Summer has come to an end, and a new school year is starting. Declan and Fiona are staying in New York, while Holly J heads back to Degrassi. Declan and Holly are still going strong and plan to make the long distance thing work until they go to Harvard together next year.Holly returns home to find moving boxes in her room. Turns out, her parents have lost all of the money, so they sold the house and are moving into an apartment. What about Yale!?Meanwhile, Fiona is officially dating Bobby, who seems perfect for her at first. But soon his behavior becomes troublesome and increasingly violent. She covers up the bruises at first. When she starts pulling away from Bobby, her family all thinks she's being dramatic and having another episode. It all comes crashing down when Bobby actually throws her down the stairs
Back at Degrassi, Dave is running for Grade 10 Representative and still trying to win Alli over. He has Connor help him put together a ranking of all the girls in school with Alli as #1, but there's a glitch and she's #42. We all know Alli wants to be hot and popular, so she's annoyed rather than interested.
And Sav is encouraged to run for student president by his family. Against Holly J. He had planned to just keep a low profile, not that all of his friends and band-mates have graduated, but maybe he has a chance? At least until Holly J does what Holly J does best, uses private information to her advantage. She convinces Anya to pretend to be pregnant to get Sav out of the running. Anya uses this as a way to get back together with him. Stop making bad choices, Anya! I love you, but noooo!
Breakaway (1-2)
Fiona confides in Declan about Bobby's abuses. Being the protective older brother he offers to take care of it, but Fiona decides to handle it herself. By falling into old patterns. She makes some fake bruises and posts the pictures online. It's so sad that women aren't believed about abuse. Yes, the pictures were fake, but that's because the real bruises had already faded. It still happened. She needs to get away from New York, and convinces her mom to let her move back to Toronto.Jenna overhears Clare telling Alli about her upcoming surgery and assumes it's for breast implants! Another episode about the perils of eavesdropping and gossip. Of course, the boys want to find out if it's true, so Wesley is on the case! He asks to touch them, and well, that is the ultimate case of misunderstanding. Poor Wesley. But enter...ELI!!! YES YES YES!!!
Anya comes clean about her fake pregnancy after the whole school starts talking about it (Thanks, Holly J). Sav is surprisingly cool about their treacherous plot, but also relieve at not being a teen dad. In a surprise twist, Sav uses the pregnancy to his advantage to get more votes for school president. Nice try, Holly J. The school wants to throw them a baby shower, so the two need to come clean. Instead, Anya fakes a miscarriage. Why couldn't they just say it was a false positive?! That's much cleaner. Still lying, but better than admitting to lying? At least they're still together...until Sav once again refuses to tell his mom about them. These two never learn.
Holly J is still stressing about getting into Yale, especially now that she can't put student council president on her application. Ms. Sauve suggests getting a SAT tutor to make sure she gets a great score, but she can't afford it. At least until she steals Fiona's credit card information. Holly J, that is low even for you. If she had just asked, Fiona would have helped her out!
99 Problems (1-2)
Riley and Zane dated all summer, but now it's back to the real world. Or just high school, where Riley is the star quarter back and can't be gay. But now, new guy Drew might steal his position, so what does that leave Riley with? Not with a hot boyfriend when locker room talk starts and Riley doesn't stick up for him, and Drew overhears Riley talking to Zane. I forgot that Drew started out as a jerkface. In fact, Zane is the only nonjerk in this episode. He's so comfortable with who he is, Riley is putting up a facade, Drew wants to be the star, and Owen is just mean.Alli doesn't want to be bored this year, so she tries out for the Power Squad. It's much harder than it looks, and she doesn't make the cut. She feels like she doesn't fit in anywhere, which is so relatable. I had friends, but I didn't have a "thing" in high school either. Clare suggests that Alli could start her own club to find the friends what she desperately wants. That also doesn't go quite as she expected, since she took her dance crew too seriously and killed the fun for everyone.
Jenna encourages KC to try out for football, but then she doesn't like the attention that he receives from the other cheerleaders. Hold on to your man, Jenna! So she does what any good girlfriend does...she goes through his phone! DO NOT DO THIS! But what she finds is even more shocking than him cheating, it's his mother.
Better Off Alone (1-2)
KC's mother shows up at a game! Jenna encourages him to talk to her, but he wants nothing to do with her. But now he's being removed from the group home, because he's no longer parentless. Is this really the best thing for KC? He's doing awesome in school, he's on the football team, he has a girlfriend and great friends. Will living his mother, a former junkie, ruin that for him? He doesn't want to risk it, so he wants to frame her for giving him drugs. He scraps that idea, but starts acting out at school. His mom is totally there for him though.Clare gets a C on a writing assignment! The audacity! She assigns Eli to be her writing partner, and thus begins one of Degrassi's most epic couples. It also marks the beginning of the end of Clare's parents. She notices them fighting, but her mom won't say why. Eli encourages Clare to channel her feelings into her writing.
Alli has her eyes on Drew. Of course she does. She goes to a party with Dave and proposes a game of "Never Have I Ever" which gets her and Drew nearly naked real quick. And making out. I completely forgot about this too. Drew was with everybody at some point! Dang, boy! Alli assumes the kiss means they're dating.
I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself (1-2)
Sav wins some concert tickets and backstage passes, but his father won't let him go. However, he does convince his father to lend his the new truck for a contest to give away the tickets and earn the student council some money. Of course, the truck gets damaged, because that's just Sav's luck. He makes a little progress with his parents, and then takes a few steps back. But it gets worse when Sav decides that he's going to the concert and he's taking the truck so he can get Eli and Adam there as well. Sav and his sister are both super smart but also super dumb. At least he got some new friends out of it.Jenna doesn't fit into her new Power Squad uniform! Now she thinks that she's fat and starts taking diet pills. That is not safe! And I'm pretty sure she's already pregnant at this point? But she learns a valuable lesson, and just orders a new uniform.
Fiona is now alone since her mom returned to New York. She has all of these plans for her and Holly J, but Holly J has work, studying, and all kinds of commitments. Fiona tells her therapist about this, and comes to the conclusion that she throws money at her problems and is trying to buy companionship. She's definitely not wrong, especially since she ends up buying a pet pig. A very cute pig, who quickly destroys her apartment.
Try Honesty (1-2)
Holly J lets Declan know that she's coming to tour Yale with him and he doesn't seem too happy about it. Maybe because he's cheating! Aside from that, Holly J comes to realize that she was making all of these plans to follow Declan rather than finding out what she actually wants to do. But all it takes is one grand gesture and she falls right back in line. Although things get questionable when he offers her an allowance instead of her taking an after school job. He also tries to throw money at all of her problems. I like money, but that is not the way to a stable relationship.Wesley and Connor want to get girlfriends. Dave isn't too excited about this plan since all of his attempts to woo Alli failed. Their plan is to start a band to get girls to notice them. Connor and Wesley are surprisingly talented, but Dave is not. Luckily autotune exists, and Dave is upset that he needed it. But they're awesome after a little tweaking, and the guys are having a good time.
Why couldn't Eli pull into the next parking space where Fitz wasn't standing? Oh, because we needed another plot. I have no thoughts on this other than this just the beginning of Eli's troubling behavior. This little "war" really serves no other purpose, than showing that Eli goes too far.
You Don't Know My Name (1-2)
Alli wants a label for her and Drew, but he convinces her that labels are bad and they're above labels. As we know, Alli doesn't give up on boys that easily. She will do anything in her power to get them together officially, even do his assignments. Mr. Perino is no dummy and realizes the essay doesn't sound like Drew, so Alli admits to writing it. Alli continues to be book smart and boy dumb. But then Drew tries to date Marisol and realizes that she's just dumb, making him realize that Alli is a much better choice. Drew is the dumb one here, but he comes around.Sav is upset because the Band Slam was cancelled, so Holly J proposes a dance to get some fun back into the school year. The two are spending a lot of time together because of student council, but Fiona thinks there's something more there. Another couple that I 100% forgot was a thing. They kind of make sense, but also...no. I'm all about Sanya, even if they have some serious issues, as does Dolly, but they work. But I do like Holly J and Sav's temporary arrangement. Why not have some fun during their Senior year?
Connor's first plot since his diagnosis. He's hooked on a game which is keeping him from sleeping, but it's more than just the game. He's met a girl in it who he feels understands him. Dave and Wesley convince him to meet this mysterious girl to take her to the dance, but it turns out that she is a grown woman. Yep, Degrassi does internet predators again! I'm not complaining, because it's an ongoing issue. And I think using Connor for this plot is extra interesting.
My Body is a Cage (1-2)
We finally find out that Adam is transgender. He wants to be put into regular gym class, but his mom worries about the other students targeting him. In the same breath, she asks him to go back to being "Grace" because grandma is coming to dinner. Audra is doing her best, but no. But one perk of remedial gym is getting to dance with Bianca. Until she reveals his binder to the school and calls him a freak. Thus the bullying starts. Fitz and Owen are the absolute worst pieces of crap. But Drew is kind of a jerk, proves that he's an excellent big brother and a crap fighter. This episode also covers self harm, as Clare catches Adam burning himself when he's dressed as Grace.Dave wants a better grade, but Ms. Oh is one tough cookie. So he heads to social media to find out what she likes so she can butter her up a bit. Major fail. Literally and figuratively. Just do the work, Dave!
Anya thinks her mom is having an affair because she disappears and leaves her wedding ring at home. But, she's been going to the hospital and getting an MRI. Turns out she has cancer. Needless to say, this distracts Anya from her school work including a project with Sav and Holly J. Of course, Holly J assume Anya found out about them and is upset. Anya tells her the truth.
Tears Dry on Their Own (1-2)
Jenna continues to struggle with her weight and some sickness, and Alli points out that she might be pregnant. But Jenna cannot be pregnant right now. She has an audition for a reality talent show! Which she blows when she gets sick, but KC tells her to get back in there! She rocks it, but can she be a pregnant teen star? Is her perfect boyfriend going to continue to be so supportive? The answer to both of these is NO.Is teen pregnancy really as common as Degrassi makes it out to be? Probably in some places, yeah. But it's good that they're covering all kinds of different situations and outcomes.
Connor is still talking to that lady in the game and says she's not a creep. She's his friend. He even goes out to meet her, but Dave and Wesley do some sleuthing to find him and save him. Mr. Simpson takes away his computer privileges to keep him safe. Connor doesn't see it that way though and finds a way to meet up with his "friend." But once she starts suggesting that they get intimate, Connor is smart enough to get out of there.
Riley wants to hang out with Zane, but he's still refusing until "Football Riley" and "Gay Riley" are one person. He doesn't really want to hang out with the football team, so he reunites with Anya and is there for her while she goes through her mom's treatment. They both are crushing on Dr. Chris and set out to find out if he's gay or not.
Still Fighting It (1-2)
Riley still cannot win with Zane, but he wants to make an effort. So he goes to a GSA meeting with him, where Riley shares how he feels about the locker room heckling. This inspires Riley to take a stand and use his power as team captain to make the boys stop. He also takes things too far as his anger returns, but I can't even blame him because Owen is the worst. It's hard to believe he has a gay brother. But ultimately Riley does the right thing, and I love Zane's smile.Clare wants to date Eli, but he isn't making a move! Adam encourages her to make the first move, and their upcoming project may just be that move. Or maybe not, since he starts ignoring her afterward. Clare asks Adam to find out what's going on, but he already knows. I remember being shocked by Eli's deep dark secret, but now it seems kind of...I don't even know.
Wesley has a crush on Anya and it's adorable. He asks her to add him to the bachelor auction list and secretly hopes that she bids on him. He just needs a boost, so he offers to tutor Drew in exchange for his help with girls. I just love Wesley. He is so cute and sweet and hilarious. And he gets his wish!
Purple Pills (1-2)
Fiona is preparing for her deposition. She felt like she was in a good place, until she watched Bobby's using her mental health struggles against her. Her therapist prescribes her some anxiety medication, but instead of filling it, she self-medicates with alcohol. Which as she has to relive Bobby's abuse gets more and more frequent. We've seen her drink and act out previously, but this is the episode that really shows us that she has a problem. With a little help from her mom and Holly J, Fiona is able to pull herself together, fill her prescription, and speak her truth.Adam is feeling alone or like a third wheel now that Clare and Eli are...whatever they're doing. Adam doesn't like how Eli has suddenly ditched him for a girl and is even lying about what he's up to. Somehow this results in Adam hanging out with Fitz who seems to be genuinely sorry for his past actions, but Eli doesn't like it. Of course, Eli is right because this is all a setup by Fitz to humiliate Adam again. I'm torn on this plot. I absolute hate when people ditch their friends for a significant other, if that's actually what they're doing, not just splitting time. But I also hate when friends feel like they're entitled to more time than the significant other. No one should have a monopoly on your time, but also don't lie.
Riley and Zane had a great first date, and Riley plans on coming out once football season is over. He plans to surprise Zane by nominating them for Kings of the dance, but that plan comes out much soon than he anticipated. He admits to like boys to the team afterward, but when he worries about not getting scouted for being gay. Thankfully, that worry is unfounded. I guess, Riley is finally out and on his way!
All Falls Down (1-2)
After someone sets off a stink bomb during exams, Audra Torres goes on a rampage and threatens to go to the school board. Mr. Simpson is not wilting flower, so he doesn't cancel the dance, but he asks for more chaperones. Sav uses the dance as his platform to serenade Holly J. She repays him with a striptease! Go, Holly J! At least until the cops walk in.Clare's guilty and hiding from Mr. Simpson, but Eli steps in and says he heard Fitz bragging about the stink bomb. To keep Fitz from breaking Eli's face, Clare agrees to go to the dance with him. Eli stays calm when Clare tells him, but he comes unhinged after Fitz says they're going to have sex. Oh hell no! Clare takes this as an opportunity to talk to Fitz, who just wants an apology, but Eli refuses to give one. Eli is supposedly the good guy but it's hard to see him that way sometimes. Then Fitz pulls out the knife...
Drew is failing math, and he also fails at resisting Bianca's charms. He tells Alli that she has nothing to worry about, but Bianca can be very persuasive. She also has no shame and makes sure that Alli knows what happened, although Drew says it was just a kiss. He fails to mention it was a kiss below the belt! He and Alli win King and Queen, but Alli left Drew hanging and finds comfort with...Owen. Ew. ALLI STOP!!! Or get rescued by your cheating boyfriend.
Maybe Audra is right and these kids need more discipline! Mr. Simpson has finally had enough...
The Breaking Point
Don't Let me Get Me (1-2)
Uniforms, cops, badges, and metal detectors! A new code of conduct! Mr. Simpson wasn't joking.Drew wants Alli back, but she's not having it. She's also giving up her double life, since she can wear the same clothes to school and at home, and no student relationships. The Science Olympics team is short a person so they can't compete, until Alli walks in. Adam is also in the club and fills her in on how Drew cried about losing her. DON'T FALL FOR IT ALLI! Alli is one of my favorite characters, but I am team Drianca.
Alli and Bianca (and random girls) are sent to a self esteem workshop after the boiler room incident. Alli doesn't think she belongs there because she didn't actually do anything, but I think she needs it more than Bianca does. Especially after she sneaks into her phone and sends out her nude photos. Did you learn nothing from that time with Johnny?! Child pornography! Needless to say, she ends up in Mr. Simpson's office. Again. And her parents see her file and all hell breaks loose. This is extremely embarrassing and distressing for everyone involved. But I'm proud of Alli for realizing that she does have a problem and things need to change, but...transferring to an all girls school!
Jenna is still competing on Next Teen Star! She's still hiding her pregnancy and hasn't built a "brand" yet. Shantay tells her that she does come across as bland and some gossip will help her out. So she announces her pregnancy on the air! Which is how KC's mom finds out she's going to be a grandmother, and that he wants nothing to do with the baby. But his mother wants to help and tries to knock some sense into Jenna who's simply relying on winning Next Teen Star...which doesn't happened. Reality check.
Love Lockdown (1-2)
Welcome back, Declan! Kind of. He's back at Degrassi for the theater awards and to win Holly J back. She's still with Sav, but Declan wants to show her that he took her word's to heart. He continues with the grand gestures, but on a more low key scale, but it still doesn't work. To help her brother out, Fiona feigns drunkenness to get Holly J to stay over and give them some alone time. This episode is actually about more than just Declan-Holly J-Sav. It's about consent. We see that Holly J isn't into Declan at the moment and does say no.Shantay is understandably mad that all unsupervised school activities are cancelled, including Power Squad. She asks for a staff adviser, but apparently they're all busy. She needs to blog about this injustice but there's a new internet firewall and a cellphone jammer, so she goes old school. Post-Its in the bathroom! Then onto Mr. Simpson's car. Think he got the message?
Eli is back from suspension and back into Clare's heart. They're suppose to have a date after the awards, but her mom says she and her father need to speak with her. But she's not going to let them ruin her night. After some wholesome fun, Eli does take Clare home where her parents are mad at her rather than each other for once. Then she invites Eli to dinner in hopes that they continue to fight with her! Eventually they drop the news. Divorce!
Umbrella (1-2)
Well, the divorce is really happening and Clare's parents are selling the house. She doesn't want to move though. This is the first time we see Clare at Friendship Club or even mention being Christian. She had turned to the club for help with her parents' divorce, but she just gets the stock "Jesus is there for you" answer. She's questioning her faith and everything she's been taught. Luckily, Eli is actually there for her, but won't have sex with her during this questioning period.This then morphs into why doesn't Eli let anyone into his room? We got a hint when he opens his locker and everything comes crashing out. His mess could rival JT's. And this is the first and only time Degrassi covers hoarding, and they don't really spend much time on it at all. Clare definitely oversteps by throwing away Eli's stuff. It's not like she knew what was important or not, even if Eli wasn't just holding on to every little thing.
With Alli gone, Drew is lonely and in walks Fiona. Who isn't looking for anything physical or serious. Which grabs Adam's attention. Maybe he has a chance, since sex won't be an issue. But he still tries to help his brother get the girl. They still wind up fighting over her, and Drew says some mean things to Adam. But Drew really does love his brother and talks to Fiona to set things straight.
Dave doesn't want anyone to know that his dad is one of the cops on campus. But after he tells Wesley that he isn't cool enough to hang out with him and his new friends, Wesley spills the beans. To regain his street cred, or whatever, he breaks into his dad's car and steals his taser and shoots Wesley. Dave just keeps going down down down for me. I cannot stand him.
Halo (1-2)
Degrassi can have a one hour dance with lots of chaperones and a dress code. But student musicians are allowed to play, so Sav asks Jenna if she wants to perform together. He also sends her a wishing star to cheer her up, but she thought it was from KC wanting to get back together. Sav even attends prenatal classes with her so she won't be alone. Of course, Jenna develops a crush and doesn't care that he's dating Holly J. When has a girlfriend ever stopped her? At least Sav is up front with her when she comes to him about the situation. He's also honest with Holly J about what happened, which is when she admits to having sex with Declan. At least everyone gets back together in the end?Anya still needs to claim her date with Wesley from the bachelor auction, which he politely reminds her of. Which is quickly followed by a wet dream and worries about what might happened when he's with her in person, but that doesn't stop him from getting his girl. He goes all out for what is going to be his only date with his dream girl. But he takes a supplement to keep Little Wesley under control, and that backfires. Anya is super sweet about it though and gets Wesley to the hospital, where they meet Dr. Chris. Wesley convinces him to stay and have coffee with Anya. He is so effing sweet!
Fiona is missing New York and all of the parties, so Adam decides to throw a themed party to make her happy. But he starts getting nervous as she isn't showing up or answering her phone. So he sets out to find her. Where is she?!
In Too Deep
When Love Takes Over (1-2)
Adam asks Fiona to audition for the play, and after confirming that there's no singing, she blows them all away. Since she's a late addition, Adam offers to help her run lines. Of course, he's still crushing on her and it seems like she may like him back. Before anything can happen between the two, Adam tells her that he's trans, and she's totally fine with it. She admits to being scared that he's going to get sick of her once he realizes that she's not perfect. Or that she's an alcoholic, who admits that she's drinking more to make being with him easier. Not what Adam wants to hear at all. Even worse, Holly J tells him that she and Fiona's mother have an intervention planned for her.Anya's mom is in remission! It's amazing news, but now she won't get to see Dr. Chris anymore. She tries to meet up with him outside of the hospital, but she realizes that he has a girlfriend. Or not. They have a wonderful date, but he still thinks that she's a 20 year old college student. Anya is giddy about their budding relationship but her mom does not approve.
Dave is sick of seeing everyone all lovey dovey around school, and random girl Sadie agrees him. He winds up asking her out, and then realizes that she's about a foot taller than him. I hate Dave, but I do kind of like this plot thread. It's almost expected that guys should be taller than their girlfriends, but there's nothing wrong with the opposite! Of course, Dave is a jerk about it and starts blowing Sadie off even though they have a lot in common.
The Way We Get By (1-2)
Drew is the only guy on the basketball without a girlfriend to celebrate with. No girls will give him the time of day except for Bianca. They have fun together, but the team's girlfriends don't like her and don't want her in their group. Everyone thinks that he can do better, but what's so bad about Bianca? She's just straight forward and likes sex. Oh...Drew really does try to bring his new girlfriend and his friends together, but it just isn't working, and he chooses the girlfriend. Which is a big mistake in the moment, since he gets high with her before the big game.Alli is worried about starting her new school. So she tries to befriend the daughter of one of her mom's friends, hoping that her goodness will rub off on her. Turns out that she's worse than Alli! But she agrees to help Alli get back into her parents' good graces if Alli covers for her once in awhile. Stop Alli! No more nonsense! You can be a good girl on your own! She's already damaged her parents' trust so of course they don't believe her about Malika.
Zane asks Riley to an art show, but he says no because he doesn't know anything about art. But after talking to Anya, he decides to accept and even gets a more sophisticated makeover! Too bad he still makes an ass of himself at the show, but to be fair, who actually understands art?! Zane says he's okay with Riley not liking art and he doesn't have to pretend, but then Riley's mom walks in on them kissing. Can Riley ever catch a break?! He can never come out on his own terms.
Jesus, Etc (1-2)
Eli is teaching Clare how to drive! Clare is confident, until Fitz steps in front of the car. He's out of juvie and says he wants to talk to them. Fitz seems to really want their forgiveness after finding Jesus. Eli is convinced that he's using Jesus as an excuse to get close to Clare, and wants to protect her. Clare is not having his macho man bull-crap. But then Fitz starts emailing Clare at all hours and keeps showing up. He seems to have no one else and Clare gets pulled in. Meanwhile, Eli's behavior gets more and more disturbing. Fitz is right about Eli needing help.Save needs a drummer, and everyone who tries out has sucked. Except Drew. Sav is hesitant because of Alli, but Drew's actually pretty good. He talks to Alli about it, and she immediately goes off because Drew is the root of all evil. Sav is a great big brother and person all around. I know he loves Alli, but he also knows this is not Drew's fault. They've all made mistakes and deserve another chance. Sav is a bit hard on her and she runs away. Their mother asks Sav to hack her laptop so they look for clues for where she might have gone. They read her ejournal and it turns out that she's gone because of them.
Jenna is hyper-focused on everything baby, while KC thinks she needs to relax a bit. This is not the time, KC! But during their final prenatal class, KC is able to change the diaper while Jenna fails. The instructor offers to let them babysit her six year old to practice. A six year old and a newborn is not remotely the same thing? I get what this plot was going for, but it kind of misses the mark.
Hide and Seek (1-2)
Holly J is falling asleep at school. She has way too many activities going on, or is it something else? It's Degrassi so of course it's something other than just being exhausted. Holly J refuses to believe that it's "something." She's Holly freaking J, she needs to go go go and achieve her goals! She can't be stopped. Even when she faints in class. It isn't until she loses control of her bladder during a presentation that she realizes that she does need medical help.Alli is still missing, and the police have footage of her getting into a car, but they can't see the plates. Sav continues looking for her, even stopping by Johnny's apartment to ask about her. He keeps Alli's secret that she's been saying there, but he's upset that she lied about being kicked out rather than running away. He still lets her stay after she explains everything that happened. She wants to move across the country, but Johnny stops her. He gets his girlfriend to show her around campus in hopes that she'll be inspired to stay, but once Alli discovers this, she runs away. Again. And gets robbed by a homeless guy and Johnny calls Sav.
Wesley is upset that he's not reaching he's goals after their class digs up their time capsule and he reads the letter from his past self. Like beating the world record for pogostick? Where he meets the love of his life, Hannah! They're so cute!
Chasing Pavements (1-2)
Fiona is out of rehab and taking things one day at a time. When she gets home a letter is waiting saying that Bobby will pay $100,000 to drop the charges. Her mom encourages her to accept to keep her sober, but Fiona wants to go through with the trial. She believes that she can handle it, and she has Holly J there to support her. And Bobby's currently girlfriend admits that he slapped her. Fiona wins her case. And kisses Holly J. On the lips. And says she loves her. Then asks Adam out again and screws it up when she mentions that she likes him for his body. Adam realizes that Fiona wants a girl. Fiona also has to deal with being in love with her best friend. She comes out to mom immediately though, which is new for Degrassi.Alli is back at Degrassi! She throws herself into studying after she learns that the principal is judged based on the school's test scores. She doesn't want Mr. Simpson to get fired, so she comes up with a plan to get other students on board. Promise them a dance to hit the books!
Anya is in lifeguard training with Owen, the creep. He touches her inappropriately and makes gross comments, so she tells. He gets kicked out and gets mad at her. She tells him exactly what she was feeling during the class, and he thinks she overreacted by going to Coach Armstrong and now he can't be a lifeguard. Classic case of victim blaming.

Eli and Clare are published! It's exciting, but now Eli thinks they're this unstoppable writing team. Clare just wants to go to the dance! Miss Daws asks to speak to Eli about the story, worried that something might be going on with him. Epic foreshadowing. He wants Clare to go away with him for two days for a convention, but he is smothering her. She thinks they need a break, which sends Eli over the edge. I'm having a hard time remembering why I loved them together to much. This is not a healthy relationship! But Eli does have an undiagnosed (as of this episode) Bi-Polar Disorder.Holly J is thinking about breaking things off with Sav. She even makes a pros and cons list. The sparkle is gone even since she got sick. Now they just pay Boggle. She doesn't know how to dump him, so Anya suggests letting his parents find out about them and they'll have to end it. But that plan back fires since Sav actually stands up to his parents and they like Holly J! Then Anya tells Holly J that Fiona is in love with her, which puts a strain on their friendship because Holly J doesn't want to lead Fiona on.
