Date night. Girls night. I need something funny night.

The Lost City of D.

Why did I decide to watch this?
Because it looked fun.

How did I like this?
It's so funny! Just the right amount of jokes. It never went too far, which doesn't for work for me, but it also didn't hold back. I just love the whole premise as a Romance reader. The romance was super fun and cute and not something I would have ever expected. It's just a good time.

Have you seen The Lost City? What did you think?
If not, would you watch it?

Asgard and beyond.

Thor is hot. So is Kat Dennings.

How did I like this?
Cancer jokes...not really funny...maybe I'm just sensitive because of my mom, but....cancer jokes? Powering through Stage 4 cancer because I'm a strong woman!!! No, thanks. I will cure my cancer with Thor's hammer! What?!?!

Other than that, this movie is ridiculous. In a fun, this makes no sense kinda way. Nudity.

The next wave of Pinocchio fans.

What is this about?
A wooden puppet comes to life and learns what it takes to be a real boy.

On a dark and stormy night. Total autumn vibes, not end of summer.

Italy.

Why did I decide to watch this?
Because it's Disney.

How did I like this?
They kept Honest John as a fox?!!? I assumed they were making everyone human! YES! But also, why are Pinocchio and Jiminy so bright?! The movie is kind of dim and toned down, but they're animated quite brightly. They stick out a bit too much.

Overall, it's a pretty straight-forward adaptation. Not much was added or taken away. It's very familiar and also brought something new. But where was the Blue Fairy during most of this?

BUT...Sharktopus. That is all!

Tiny Shoulders: Rethinking Barbie (2018)

Genre(s): Documentary
Production Co.: Hulu
Director: Andrea Blaugrund Nevins
Starring: Richard Dickson, Kristina Duncan, Michelle Chidoni

Who would I recommend this to?
Anyone interested in the history of Barbie and how she made her comeback for modern audiences.

What is this about?
The rise and fall and resurgence of the Barbie doll.

When would be a good time to watch this?
No rush, but whenever you feel like.

Where does it take place?
America.

Why did I decide to watch this?
I've been on a Barbie kick lately.

How did I like this?
It's kind of dry. When I think of Barbie, I think fun and glamour and possibilities! This was kind of a downer. I know it's about how Barbie was becoming irrelevant and almost hated, but the delivery didn't need to be so somber.

Do I think Barbie needed a makeover? Yes and no. I definitely think there needs to be a range of skintones and body types so kids can see themselves in the dolls. But I don't think Barbie herself needed a change. She was never meant to be realistic, she was just a vessel for children to project their imaginations on. You can't please everyone.

Twelve queens compete to become Canada's first drag superstar!

When would be a good time to watch this?
When you need some wholesome entertainment.

Where does it take place?
The main stage, Canada.

Why did I decide to watch this?
Because it's Drag Race...in Canada!

How did I like this?
I adored it from the moment the first queen walked in. It's just so fun! Definitely different from the US edition, but still comforting and familiar. It's been a long time since I cried during DR, but this one hit me in the second episode! My all-time favorite runway theme was also from the second episode! Then I cried again during the first ever Drag Race pageant, but from laughing so hard. Holy crap!

It's weird to not see Mama Ru at the judges panel, but I like all three of the judges a lot. And I definitely appreciate that Brook Lynn Hytes isn't trying to BE RuPaul. She's being her sweet poised self. And I've always loved Stacy from ANTM, and feel like she was perfect here! Jeffrey is just adorable; that smile!

Team Priyanka!
